An injury should not prevent you from working out!
I had surgery three weeks ago, two titanium plates & 8 screws for a total wrist fusion, did I let this prevent me from working out??
Just because I won't be able to use my right arm for quite some time, does not mean that I won't be able to workout. I have my left arm, core and legs... and of course you always have cardio :)
So many people fall off the bandwagon during a time of injury, really you should use this time to focus on the body parts you have been neglecting.
