Contest Prep πŸ’ͺ& Mardi Gras 🎭

Learning balance is key. It's Mardi Gras weekend and I'm 10 weeks out from stepping on stage at The Battle on the Bluff.

Last night we attended the Mystics of Pleasure Ball and I put on one of my gowns that I have owned well over 10 years. Everything fit perfect except... I think I grew my back too wide :) If you happened🎭 to see me last night, don't judge the tucked in flaps where it wouldn't zip up my back πŸ’ͺTonight will be the same scenario and for the first time in my life, I'm happy my size 2 gown doesn't fit!

I decided last year to create space in my life for a new transition. Every day I work on being the best version of myself. Transparency. I was stagnant and knew I couldn't repeat the same thing day in and day out and expect a different outcome.

March 2018

I was drinking a couple of glasses of wine every single day for years and binge drinking on the weekends. I was doing massive amounts of cardio to counterbalance the weight gain, which was a non-stop vicious cycle.

I was working a crazy amount of hours each day and the stress caused my cortisol levels to spike and throw my hormones off balance. I never lifted weights and wasn't monitoring my food intake correctly.

One morning I woke up and said that's it... I was meant to do more with this life.

I started lifting weights. I started listening and reading every self-help book I could get my hands on. I stopped drinking. I started communicating better with my husband. I started seeing my therapist (my paid friend πŸ’–) again, which I highly recommend to everyone. I wanted to be real. I wanted transparency in my life. I wanted to be a better person. I decided it was time to shed layers of baggage. I needed to find my passion again, and I did!

I always tell my clients, you must work on you first and everything else will fall into place. I can look back at my life and every time I have fallen by the wayside, it's because I wasn't working on me.  Through the years of owning Bodies By Cindy and creating the other businesses along the way, speaking and motivating others, and working on meal plans and workout for clients, I somehow neglected myself.

People can change.

I have never been so in sync with myself as I am at this very moment.
My life pretty much consists of studying, training, working, going to bed at 8pm every night (yes, even on the weekends) and I LOVE IT! It's all about priorities and deciding what you want in life. I take time for me and make myself a priority every single day.

You have a choice and if today was your last day on earth, can you honestly say you are living your best life?

This week was pretty incredible, I got an email from Sandy the owner of Beverly International with an attachment of the cover for their publication No Nonsense magazine, and I made it! I had a grin, I couldn't wipe off my face for the entire day. If you would have told me a year ago I would be bodybuilding and back in school pursuing a Doctorate in Functional Medicine, I never would have believed it.

Contest prep is going well and looking forward to the intensity cranking up over the next couple of weeks. I love the discipline. It's exactly what I needed in my life, structure.
